The AFI Group realized the tremendous potential that is latent in BOT (Build, Operate, and Transfer) projects and PFI (Private Finance Initiative – public projects that are financed by private funds) projects many years ago and it was the first company in Israel to operate such projects.
The principle that lies at the basis of these initiatives is the concept of working with the government and other institutions, which are not capable of making the initial investment and financing the construction at a specific time, or of managing a project, which may continue for more than a decade.
Among these projects, one can count Route 6 (the first toll road in Israel), the student dormitories at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Hayovel Tower, in which the government offices in Tel Aviv are located.
