Africa Israel Industries
Africa Israel Industries Ltd. and its consolidated companies are engaged in three fields of activity: steel, ceramics, and Russian real estate. Since September 1981, the company’s shares have been registered for trade on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Ltd.
Steel – Packer Plada Industries and Apogey
The company primarily operates in the steel sector through its holdings in Packer Plada Industries Ltd. (formerly Packer Yad-Paz Ltd.) and through the Apogey Group, which operates in the Russian steel trade. Packer Plada Industries and the companies in which it invests are engaged in the sale of raw materials for the Israeli metals industry. Packer Plada industries operates five sites, which are located in various geographical locations across the country. Packer Plada's activities (through its subsidiary and investee companies) include the processing and selling of various sizes of steel plates, the production and sale of pipes and profiles, the processing and sale of steel rods and quality steels, the galvanization of metal products, the production of finished metal products, the production and marketing of greenhouses, the import and marketing of complementary steel products in the field of electronic equipment, and light poles. The Packer Plada Group employs some 700 workers.
The Apogey Group operates in the field of steel in Russia, dealing in precision steels, steel tools, and steel plates. The Apogey Group employs some 200 workers in 13 branches.
Negev Ceramics
AFI Group operates in the ceramics sector through its holdings in Negev Ceramics Ltd., which is the largest company in Israel in the field of tiles for flooring, cladding, and bathroom fixtures. Negev Ceramics' main activities are the import, marketing, and distribution of international brands and local produce as well as the production of porcelain tiles for flooring and cladding.
The company markets a wide range of finishing materials, which include glazed porcelain tiles and ceramics for flooring and cladding, which are produced in the Negev Ceramics Group's factory in Yeruham. In addition, Negev Ceramics markets imported ceramics and porcelain granite products, marble, parquet, bathroom fixtures, faucets, bath accessories, glues, and ancillary materials, which complement its array of products.
Negev Ceramics markets its products through a number of distribution channels: an independent retail chain, which has some 11 stores; a national distribution set-up for traders; a national distribution set-up for projects; and an export set-up.
Russian Real Estate – Koa Gas
Koa Gas owns a facility for the production and handling of building materials and infrastructure in the town of Kraskovo in the Lubritze district of Moscow.
The facility is located on an area of approximately 260,000 m² of private land, and includes industrial buildings and infrastructure, such as railway tracks and engines that are owned by Koa Gas, a solar energy center that serves the needs of the facility, wells for both drinking water and for water for industrial use, as well as other equipment.
